Parque Natural de Anaga
This is one of my favourite places to be in nature in Tenerife. Lush vegetation, fairy tale like forests, trekking trails and amazing views.
If you fancy going hiking, you have different options.

Sendero de Los Sentido
This is a short and easy trail to get a sense of the park. If you are interested in more adventurous hikes, you can go to the visitors centre where they can give you more options. -
Afur: Designated route Afur – Taganana – Afur
This is a route full of contrasts between canyons, cliffs and the Monteverde forest formation.
Playa de Benijo is a great beach with black sand surrounded by dramatic rocks. If you look to the northeast you will see a giant bear bathing in the sea! Traveling to Playa de Benijo is no easy task but you will find some great views. The road that snakes up from San Andres and then down to Taganana is very twisty with 180° hairpin turns, but the descent from the mountain make it worthwhile.
Northeast of the island
In the very north of the island you will find the holiday resorts of Punta del Hidalgo and Bajamar. There are sea water pools in Bajamar and Punta del Hidalgo. There is a sandy beach at El Pris. Look out for Café Melita, a café and pastry shop with international specialties which is located just off the road to Punta del Hidalgo.
Places to Eat
La Laguna is full of small tascas, where you can have a break and enjoy a wine and some tapas.

CASA PACA – Caserio Benijo 8, 38129
Very humble place but authentic Canarian food. It’s just like eating at a Canarian granny’s house!
